It is the 15th and I promised to post pictures of our beaches on the 15th and 30th of each month. Last week I was shooting a wedding on Santa Rosa Beach, FL.
While there were signs indicating the beach had been affected, I didn’t see any. The signs simply say that the beach was at one point affected by oil and you are to swim at your own risk. Well, what we have seen in Bay County is a couple of tar balls wash up, the crews clean it within hours, the tide goes out and oil is gone. There are still plenty of people enjoying themselves in the water. Don’t let the national news scare you, our beaches are still amazing and beautiful. If you are concerned about whether you should cancel your vacation then call a local business or hotel and ask the beach status in the area you are staying. Don’t rely on a national commentator that doesn’t even live here.
